To my Future Niece

Just last Thursday, we found out that Baby Bass is going to be a girl. This didn't come as a surprise because it seems like our family only has girls! In fact, on my dad's side, of the last 10 cousins only one of them is a boy! We are just blessed with girls, and that is just fine with me!

As I was driving home after the gender reveal party, I was thinking about the differences each aunt and uncle is going to bring to the table.

Ashton will without a doubt be the aunt who does everything with the kids. She has always been a kids' person, and this baby will be lucky to have her! She will be the aunt to take the baby to every event, buy her a million cute outfits, and take countless pictures of her :)

Madison, who will be known as Auntie Mad Dog, will be the silly aunt who without a doubt be the favorite! She will always be the first one to make Baby Bass laugh and without a doubt to be the Aunt she goes to when she wants a good time.

Brekk, my brother-in-law's brother, will be the lone uncle! Brekk will without a doubt be able to use this sweet innocent baby as a girl magnet :) But he will also be a great uncle who will be loving, caring, and probably the one to strap the baby onto his back while he scales a mountain!

I start to think of where I would fit in and what I would bring to the table. The more I thought about it the more I realized that I want to be the aunt who she turns to for advice. I want to be an example and push her towards becoming a better person. I want to be her biggest cheerleader, but most importantly I want her to see me as a Godly example.

As I drove home that night, I started to pray. Pray that I would be filled with wisdom, love, and patience. I prayed that regardless of what this baby accomplishes in life, she will be filled with God's love and goodness. I prayed that if she learns anything from me at all, she will learn that a relationship with God is the most life-changing and important decision she can make. I pray that God will use her in big ways and that she will turn towards Him in all that she does. I pray that she has success, but I also pray that she has struggles and obstacles to overcome. I pray that through those hardships she learns to rely on God and trust in His promises to never leave her or forsake her. I pray that God's love shines through her to all those around her. But most of all, I pray that she loves God with all her heart and seeks him through every moment of her life.

So Baby Bass, while I haven't met you yet, I want you to know, little one, that I love you more than words can explain. I pray for you daily. Know that wherever life takes you, you have three Aunties who will support, love, and cherish you!

My Top 10

I love blogs. I could spend my whole night reading blogs. I always start out reading a blog I enjoy about hair and beauty, and next thing I know I'm reading a blog about Mexican food. Does that ever happen to anyone else?
One of my favorite blog posts to read is when people do Top 10s. I love top 10 beauty items, or top 10 recipes to try. Heck, I even like to read the top 10 ways to be healthy :)

So what better way to introduce myself to the blog world, than a…

Top 10 Things to Know about Me

1) I have about five go-to movies and tv shows that I watch on rotation. I am the type of person who can watch the same tv series several times before I get bored with it. A few of my favorite include

2. I have this weird ability to remember funny quotes from movies, tv shows, and even commercials. When I was in school, I struggled to even remember the material I studied the night before, but when it came to a funny youtube video I watched a week ago I can almost quote it perfectly.
I tend to incorporate funny quotes into every conversation. It has gotten to the point that whenever I say something funny my dad asks what movie it was from.

3. I have struggled with anxiety for a few years. There are good days and bad, but I wouldn't change my anxiety for anything. While that mind sound like a weird statement, I have realized that my anxiety has been a blessing in disguise. It has strengthened my relationship with my family but also my relationship with God.

4. I am going to be an auntie for the first time in April. We just found out Baby Bass is going to be a girl, and I am already in love with her :)

5. My three sisters are my rocks. They never cease to make me laugh, and I know I can go to them with anything. We have been through a lot these last few months, but I know we can make it through anything.

6. My dream job is teaching 8th grade English. My undergrad degree is English Education, and I am one class away from a second degree in Elementary Education. I currently work at the business office of the local school district while I finish school. I am hoping to start teaching next school year!

7. In just a few short weeks, I will be moving into my first home!! #firsttimehomeowner
I am so blessed to have been able to have my house built, and I can't wait to move in to decorate. In other news, we just got a Hobby Lobby so there goes my savings.

8. Without a doubt, the most important part of who I am is my faith. These last few years have tested my faith, and I have grown so much in my relationship with God (this is an entire blog post in itself). While I know I still have so much to learn, I am just blessed with the grace and faithfulness God gives me on a daily basis.

9. There is hands down, nothing better in the world than a good laugh. I mean like deep down in your belly, struggling to breathe, and ending up with the hiccups type of laugh. To be honest, this type of laugh happens to me on a daily basis.

10. I have been told on more than one occasion that my sisters and I are like a real-life SNL skit. We are messy, loud, most likely obnoxious, and quite hilarious when we are together. At least we think we are hilarious. I wouldn't trade this for anything in the world. In fast, I often find myself saying that I think we should have our own reality tv show :)

So there you have it…the 10 most important facts about me. Tell me, what is the one thing you would share to describe yourself?

Here Goes Nothing

My name is Whitney Jo.
I have spent countless hours reading blogs all across the internet. I have waisted spent hours reading everything from fashion blogs to fitness blogs and everything in between. While I love reading blogs, I never considered myself a blogger. However, the idea started to bloom when I realize how much time I spent having a conversation with myself as I drove home each night from work. While this might sound crazy, I would almost "write" a blog post in that I would talk through whatever issue was on my mind. I realized a blog would be a great outlet for me.

So you may be wondering just who is this girl who suddenly thinks she has an exciting enough life to blog about?
Well, I am a 26 year old Christian from Montana, who is probably not your typical blogger. I rarely do anything beyond pin DIYs on my pinterest boards. I can follow a recipe, but that is about it. I don't workout everyday (even though I should), and I don't have any cute kids to share pictures of.

But a little about me:
I am the second oldest of four girls + a brother-in-law!

I have two dogs, Cori and Bella, who I will probably share way too many pictures of.

In the last few months I have spent a lot of time working on my relationship with God, and with that, I feel like I have so much to share. At the same time I have so much to work on, and I hope to continue on my journey through this blog.
Come join me for the ride!
